Prosciutto

Address: Venezuela 1212 – Monserrat

The best Italian cuisine is offered in this recycled traditional casona (old, large house) in the neighborhood of Montserrat. Its perfect refurbishment has gained Prosciutto the international ICOMOS Award to the best recycled building in the restaurant industry. The canteen-style architecture and decoration faithfully transmit early 20th Century Italian influence on the southern neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. The restaurant has a bright first floor, and the second floor features halls decorated with different hams. Wood is the prevailing material in the decoration, contrasting with the wrought iron accents on the stairs. Their dishes also reflect a strong Italian influence: homemade pasta, prepared in front of customers, plays a leading role together with ham platters. “African Strawberries”, served with black pepper and ice-cream are the finishing touch for a perfect meal.
