Las Violetas

Address: Av. Rivadavia 3899 – Almagro

Among the places “rescued” from oblivion, it has an architectonic beauty that accounts for the luxury of Buenos Aires back when it opened in 1884. It preserves the original details, such as bronze wall lamps, the hand sculpted crystals, the impressive vitraux, the set of chairs and tables from Paris, and the old worship objects perfectly preserved.
It reopened offering all kind of pastries and sweets, like cakes, “masas” and “facturas” as well as delicious crumb sandwiches. They offer coffee and cappuccino at all times, and some quick lunches too. However, they get overcrowded at tea time due to the offer of delicacies to be shared with friends as if it were the English tea, when it is usual to have to line up for a table, especially on weekends.
