Banchero

Address: Suarez 396 – La Boca

“Rancho Banchero” originated in March, 1932 although its history dates back to 1883 when Mr. Agustín Banchero from Geneve, opened a bakery where the “fugazza” with cheese was born. Afterwards, his son Juan opened to the pizza place we currently know: a true symbol of La Boca that received very distinguished regular customers such as Benito Quinquela Martín, Juan de Dios Filiberto, Luis Sandrini and Tita Merello, among many others. Its indoor decoration was updated but it didn’t lose its typical neighborhood style of La Boca. Its wallpaper is formed by pictures of famous characters and regular customers, big paintings of the Riachuelo, paintings by A. Abelleyra Cabral and a number of diplomas among which the “La Boca Republic” from 1934 stands out.
Among the musts there are the special faina cooked in a Geneva way and the pancakes with dulce de leche and caramel.
It opens at 8am and it closes at 1am. It gets crowded with fanatics before or after football matches.
It has branches in Downtown, Once and Caballito.
